Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (Official Website)
Contents:
Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop is a revolutionary PC & Virtual Reality (VR) application that allows you to fully customize your digital color vision. One if its main features is the separate customizability of each eye's digital color space. This dichoptic color viewing introduces you to a 6-dimensional color space containing more than 240 trillion dichoptic colors (about 16 million times more colors than the average person can see), whose amazing and novel colors can be implemented into the digital 3D color space. This tool transforms your color vision from a biologically limited and static into a malleable and customizable sense.
Important: Use Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop at your own risk. The developer is not liable for any issues that may arise from its use. Please ensure your system meets the minimum requirements. Note that the application may not be compatible with Windows versions older than Windows 11.
Important: Make sure to ease into using cross- or parallel-eye viewing techniques and dichoptic color viewing in Virtual Reality. If you're a beginner and you're overusing skill-based techniques, you might temporarily get eye strain and/or headaches. Implement frequent pauses based on your skill and comfort level.
Important: Since there's a chance that Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop doesn't work on some setups despite meeting the hardware and software requirements, you can find a free demo version down below. Use this to test whether this tool will work for your specific setup. If the demo works, then the main application should also work. Be aware that I can't guarantee compatibility of the screen capture and VR mode with every hardware and software setup.
Custom Color Space (via 1D, 2D and 3D Color Textures): This feature allows you to customize the entire digital color space. Anything visible on your desktop changes its colors according to your customization.
Dichoptic Color Viewing: This feature allows you to individually customize the color space of each eye. You can color the digital trichromatic color space in any of the amazing 274,942,000,000,000 (two hundred seventy-four trillion nine hundred forty-two billion) dichoptic colors.
PC and VR Modes: The PC mode allows you to view your custom color vision on a single screen as well as dichoptically via a split-screen. The VR mode allows the same functionality but with a bigger screen and without you having to e.g. cross your eyes to view dichoptic colors.
Real-Time Performance: Can capture and remap the colors of a 1080p desktop in real-time on an i7-8700 + GTX 1070 Ti in both the PC mode and VR mode, leaving enough headroom to play, for example, Minecraft alongside it at 45-60 FPS in the PC mode and at 75-85 FPS in the VR mode without major lags. Games like The Binding of Issac, Sacred Gold, Stardew Valley, etc. can be played with almost no additional FPS drops (depending on your specific hardware and software setup).
This application is for:
Artists who want to be able to fully customize their digital color vision to view art and anything on their desktop in new colors.
Designers, Scientists & Educators who want to explore the digital 3-dimensional color space in fully customizable trichromatic and dichoptic hexachromatic colors through stereo viewing techniques and Virtual Reality. This tool is perfect for artistic, scientific as well as educational contexts.
Color Nerds who want to test the limits of dichoptic color vision in humans and want an easy way to view anything on their desktop in customizable trichromatic and dichoptic hexachromatic colors. Especially exploring dichoptic colors is made incredibly easy with this tool.
And generally those who want to watch videos, series and play games with freely customizable colors.

Engine: Unity
Coding Language: C#
Developed in OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Home
Studio: Ooqui Sensory Lab
Developer: Kilian-Roy Lachner (alias: Ooqui)
Version History:
Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (V1.0)
The first commercially available version of the Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop application (V1.0).
Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (Settings) and Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (PC-VR) are two separate applications that unite into a single tool.
Download & Carefully read the Readme.txt file
Download and unpack the Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (Settings) and Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (PC-VR) .zip files
First start Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (Settings), thereafter start Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (PC-VR), so that the settings correctly load in the first session. (no additional installations required)
For the Virtual Reality (VR) mode, you additionally need:
a compatible VR headset (e.g. Pico 4, with controllers for setup)
a PC-VR connection program (e.g. Pico Connect for the Pico 4 VR headset)
a VR platform and engine that serves as a universal hub for VR games and apps (e.g. SteamVR)
Some applications that you want to view while running the VR mode might need to be started before the whole VR pipeline has been set up, so that Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop (PC-VR) gets recognized as the primary VR application on initialization.

List of Known Issues
The Hexachromatic Code Reader might not always perfectly read out the colors on the split-screen. The color name may sometimes be inaccurate.
Is this application Windows only?
Yes, currently Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop is only available for Windows 11, and may work for Window 10 also.
Where can I get support/help if I have any problems with or questions about the application?
First, please read this website for the Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop very carefully once again. Your question might have already been answered resp. your problem already solved, and you might have just overlooked it.
If there's still questions and your problem hasn't been addressed, you can get help and support on the Ooqui Sensory Lab Discord server.
I might or might not reply! Support is currently free, so it's entirely dependent on my time schedule, and whether I can or want to help with solving your problems and answering your questions! Only use the support e-mail if your feel like it's absolutely necessary!
Can I use this tool with only one monitor?
Yes.
In the PC mode you can use the shortcut "LEFT STRG + LEFT SHFIT + O" to activate the see/click through feature. This feature lets the screen capture ignore its own window, allowing you to use this tool on a single screen without it recording itself. This is an experimental feature that may or may not work with your hardware and software setup!
In the VR mode you can simply minimize the window. This frees up your view of the desktop in VR so that the window doesn't record itself.
Alternatively, in the PC mode you can use Virtual Display to simulate a virtual monitor. Once this virtual monitor is setup correctly, you can automatically switch to it in the Color in Color: Hexachromatic Desktop main application via the monitor switch button.
